BACKGROUND

Entor grew up on Trill, the second of five children born to Trill scientists. He has what he considered to be an uneventful childhood.

As the family lived near a woodland area, Entor and the other children his age could often be found playing in that area, building forts, exploring, etc.

At age 14, Entor took up nijitsu. It started out as something of an apology, but wound up being a lifelong facination. One summer day, Entor accientally sent a rock crashing through several plants of a human horticulturalist named Kenji Osaka. Kenji had recently moved to Trill to continue his work with a reacerch facility located in Colfax (which, irronically, was where Entor's parents worked). Entor apologized profusely, admitting he had gotten a little over-excited. Kenji was very gracious and understanding, and made Entor an offer: the apology would be accepted on the condition that Entor be taught an old Earth martial art known as nijitsu in order to be able to curb his youthful excitement. Entor, fumbling for a way out of the embarrasing predicament, accepted the offer, and soon afterwards found himself caught up in it.

As Entor grew older, he began noticing an increased amount of pressure from his parents, some family members, and some friends to go through training to become joined with a symbiont. He wasn't too thrilled with the concept. While he didn't object to other Trills becoming joined, if they so desired, he, along with a small number of other Trills, had no desire to become joined, or, as he called it, a "biological recording device".

Eventually, he felt that he could either bow down to his parents' wishes, and go through with the training, or to follow his heart, and not go through the training. He chose the latter, and knowing that his decision would not exactly be welcome news, began makign preparations for the reaction. Aware that he would probably be unwelcome at home, he quietly took the entrance exam to Starfleet, feeling that joining Starfleet was the best option available to him.

He waited until he was accepted into Starfleet, and then made his anouncement of his decision about the joining program. As expected, the reaction to the news was not well received, and he was soon on the next transport to Earth. The estrangement between Entor and his parents and older brother (as well as some others) exists to this day. Kenji understood Entor's desision, and as a parting gift gave him the katana that Entor had practiced with during so many lessons.

His time at the Academy was (he felt) uneventful; uneventful if you don't want to count the time that he and a friend played apractical joke on one of their instructors.

After his graduation, he was posted on the U.S.S. Bozeman as a junor operations officer. He served there for two and a half years. The Bozeman was damaged in the Borg incursion of 2373; during that incident Entor rescued a fellow crewmember by pulling the other man out of a room rapidly filling with smoke and getting him to sickbay, before heading to Engineering to help out.

Afer that incident, he was promoted to lieutenant junior grade and, since the Bozeman would be in drydock undergoing repairs for some time, was assigned to the U.S.S. Antioch for a year and a half.

Before long, he was assigned to the U.S.S. Knight as the Chief of Operations. During that time, he was promoted to lieutenant senior grade and received two awards for his involvement in the Aebrynnis Campaign. The Knight was tossed into an alternate reality after a criminal cartel forced the CO of the Knight to use an experimental device. The Knight was placed near the alternate universe version of Earth (named Aebrynnis), and efforts to get back to their own reality sent the crew to the planet surface to gather the needed items. Eventually, they were successful in acheiving their goals, and returned to Earth to remove those members of that criminal cartel that had infiltrated several key Starfleet positions on Earth and several other key Federation instalations.

However, certain events and a few bad decisions he made (mostly unrelated to the Aebrynnis Campaign) led Entor to question his own future in Starfleet, and after speaking with a counselor decided to take a leave of absence to put his life in order.

After a year's leave of absence Entor put in an application to be reassigned, and was assigned to Starfleet Academy as an instructor, where he was soon promoted to lieutenant commander.

PERSONALITY PROFILE

Entor is well disiplined from his training in in nijitsu. He can be friendly, as well as a good listener, but it's not a good idea to provoke him too much. He doesn't talk much about his past, especially about his encounter with the Borg in the Typhon sector.

PHYSICAL PROFILE

Weight: 158 pounds
Height: 5 feet 9 inches
Eye color: Brown
Hair colour: Brown

SPECIAL NOTES

Entor, like a small number of Trills, has no desire to become a joined Trill, or, as he calls it, 'a biological recording device'. However, he doesn't object to other Trills becoming joined, if they so desire. This attitude has led to a 9 year estrangement between Entor and his parents and older brother.

Entor is a long time friend of Ezri Teegan, the current host of the Dax symbiont.
