BACKGROUND |

|
Ordell grew up on Trill, the third of four children.
He almost bowed to his parents' wishes to go through the training to become a joined Trill, but after long discussions with a friend (also Trill) who didn't care much for the thought of being joined (or becoming a "biological recording device") and was rather opinionated about the subject, Ordell instead went to Starfleet Academy, feeling that joining Starfleet was the best option available to him.
The decision didn't go over very well, as he'd expected, and it led to an estrangement between Ordell and most of his family which lasts to this day.
His time at the Academy was (he felt) uneventful; uneventful if you don't want to count the time that he and a friend (the same one with whom he'd had the long conversations that led to Ordell's decision not to go through the Initiate program) played apractical joke on one of their instructors. After graduation he was assigned to the U.S.S. Aeolus as a junior engineer.
He received a promotion while serving on the Aeolus for saving two crewmates in an engineering accident. When the opportunity to become the assistant chief engineer of the U.S.S. Caduceus, a hospital ship, came along, Ordell was hesitant at first to take it, but decided that the oportunity was too good to pass up.
When the Chief Engineer of the Caduceus, Lt. Luke Claymore, who was a member of a silicone-based species, merged with the damaged neural gel packs of the Caduceus' Quarantine Unit to ensure their repair when they had been damaged in a mission, Captain Manion promoted Ordell to full lieutenant and installed him as the chief engineer.
Ordell has recieved a commendation and the Star of Merit for exemplary work during the final months of the Dominion War.
In 2376, the Caduceus was destroyed while on a humanitarian mission in the Briar Patch as the result of a Tal'Shiar plot. Ordell, along with the captain of the late Caduceus, was recalled to Utopia Planitia to perform the final shakedown of the Caduceus-A, a recently comissioned Dawnstar class hospital ship.
In 2377, a medical conference was hosted on board the Caduceus. The conference was disrupted by a sabateur, who poisoned the air supply of the ship's arboretum, where the ship's senior staff and the medical conference delegates were at a special reception. Ordell survived the indicent, but due to the toxic effects of the poison, he was transfered to Earth for treatment. After almost three months of treatment, he was assigned limited duty as a senior engineer to the Utopia Planitia Shipyards for the next year until he could sufficiently recover to return to fully active duty.
Currently, Ordell is an instructor at Starfleet Academy.

SPECIAL NOTES |
|

|
Ordell is a hard worker and is very responsible, although he can and does enjoy a good time. He can be friendly, as well as a good listener, but it's not a good idea to provoke him too much. Ordell, like a small number of Trills, has no desire to become a joined Trill. However, he doesn't object to other Trills becoming joined, if they so desire.
Ordell is a long time friend of Ezri Tegan, the current host of the Dax symbiont.
