AES Starfleet Academy Curriculum
The following is a brief outline of what a student can expect, and
be expected to accomplish in a Star Trek class. Classes generally have a
maximum of 20 students, and are generally presided over by two
instructors. Classes are conducted through the use of an e-mail mailing
list, the address for which will be supplied to you at the start of the
class. Each class lasts around 4 weeks, depending on the progress of the
students in general. The requirements for Graduation can be found at the
bottom of this page.
This is a brief outline; instructors are given lease to adapt
their courses as they see fit.
Class Sylabus
Week 1: (requirement: 1 post - introduction)
Week 2: (requirement: 1 post - first post)
Week 3: (requirement: 1 post - assignment (joint post))
Week 4 (requirement: 2 posts - 1 general, 1 assignment (character bio))
Graduation requirements:
Introduction to class list.
Post an introduction.
Start the cadets on their character biography.
Assignment 1: Introduce yourself to the class. Begin writing a character biography.
What is simming?
Simming etiquette; Basics of a Posting.
Assignment 2: Write a first post.
What is Joint posting?
Assignment 3: Writing a joint post.
Explain to the cadets things to think about when choosing a sim; Types of Positions.
Helping cadets to apply to their sim of choice.
Assignment 5: Submission of completed character biography.
Graduation.
1.) All posting requirements must be satisfied.
2.) Each cadet must submit a character biography even
if the cadet has no intention of joining a sim at the
time of graduation.
