In order to help better provide information about AES member sims to interested simmers (and legal guardians of simmers who are minors), the AES has established several different sim ratings that individual GMs can choose from to apply to their respective sim. The rating specifies what type of content may occur in In Character posting in the sim in question. The current ratings that can be selected by an AES GM, along with what each rating means within the AES, are as follows:

G:
This sim has been voluntarily rated G by its administrators and involves content suitable for all ages.

This sim is suitable for all ages; language is kept clean, there is no violence, and adult situations are rare. Finding a sim like this is rare, because if we all wanted to be in sims like this there would be a lot of Barney the Dinosaur or Sesame Street sims on the Internet.

PG:
This sim has been voluntarily rated PG by its administrators. Parental guidance is suggested as this sim may involve content of a violent nature.

Sims rated PG may include mild language and mild violence.

This sim may not be suitable for people under the age of 10.

PG-13:
This sim has been voluntarily rated PG-13 by its administrators. It involves content of a violent nature as well as adult situations.

PG-13 indicates that the sim is similar to a PG sim but there may be more adult content, such as dating (GASP!), kissing, and IMPLIED sexual relations, meaning they are alluded to but never "seen".

This sim may not be suitable for people under the age of 13.

R:
This sim has been voluntarily rated R by its administrators and involves content suitable for adults only.

This rating indicates that there is more text of an adult nature or more violence in the sim than a PG-13 sim. More swearing, and sex may be mentioned in more detail in logs from these sims.

This sim may not be suitable for people under the age of 18.

MA:
This sim has been voluntarily rated MA by its administrators and involves excessive violence and extreme language.

MA is the most severe form of rating a sim can possibly have in AES.

Sims rated MAture indicate the may contain (but are not limited to) EXTREME violence (such as beating, torture, sadism), extreme adult content containing graphic imagery and text, and/or excessively foul language. Sims with this rating are rare. People under the age of 18 are NOT allowed to participate in the sim.
